16th September
Our Year 6 children have been very busy getting ready for the House Captains vote. All of our children in KS2, get to take part in a democratic vote, to choose 2 children to head their house. Who will it be? Announcements will be coming very soon!

15th September
Some of our Year 5 and 6 children, have volunteered to take part in a pupil leadership opportunity. They will be know as Eastlands Well Being Ambassadors. They will offer support to our children if they need a chat or help on the playground at break and lunchtime. They have just started their training and we are sure they will be a great asset to our school. More information coming soon.
15th September
Today, all of our children from Reception to Year 6, took part in the Safe and Active Schools Hands Up Travel Survey. Every year we take part to kick off our Road Safety learning towards a Safe and Active Schools Award. Warwick Bear was very proud of everyone! This runs alongside our WOW Travel Tracker where if children travel actively 3 times a week, they can earn a badge each month. Please click the link below to read the letter for Parents and Carers. A huge congratulations to Mrs Vikmanis on achieving her 25 Years’ Service Award with Warwickshire County Council. This is a wonderful milestone and a fitting recognition of her outstanding dedication to children, families and education over the past quarter of a century. Many members of our school community will know that Mrs Vikmanis’ journey at Eastlands began many years ago as a parent helper. Through her commitment, enthusiasm and passion for supporting children, she has become an invaluable member of our staff team and a highly respected colleague. Today, Mrs Vikmanis works across the school, leading and delivering our PSHE curriculum to children of all ages, helping to develop confident, caring and responsible young people. In addition to this important role, Mrs Vikmanis is one of our trained Safeguarding Leads for Online Safety, supporting children, staff and families in navigating the digital world safely. She also played a key role in designing and building our new school website, ensuring it reflects the vibrant and welcoming community we are so proud of at Eastlands. Over the years, so many children have benefited from Mrs Vikmanis’ kindness, wisdom, encouragement and expertise. She has made a lasting difference to the lives of so many pupils and families and is greatly valued by everyone who knows her. Her unwavering commitment to our school and community exemplifies the very best of public service. On behalf of all the children, staff, governors and families at Eastlands Primary School, thank you, Mrs Vikmanis, for 25 years of remarkable service. We are incredibly fortunate to have you as part of our Eastlands family, and we look forward to many more years of your dedication and expertise. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement.

Welcome back everyone! It is lovely to see you all. We are going to have a very busy and fun Year together. We look forward to welcoming our new Nursery and Reception children very soon. Keep an eye out for our first newsletter which will include important dates and information. Dates will be added to our calendar as soon as they are set. Latest news will be added here and information will appear on class pages in the coming weeks.

Friday 11th September - Hot shots (Basketball) taster sessions and sign up
Tuesday 15th September - PSA AGM in school 5:30pm - parents welcome.
Monday 21st September - YR and Y6 Height and Weights check with School Nursing team
